What are the obligatory conditions for wealth zakat?

The mandatory conditions for zakat are as follows:

1. ISLAM
 2. FREEDOM
 3. FULL OWNERSHIP
  1.  Ownership of the wealth must be clear and no other person has rights over it except the owner.
 4. REACHES NISAB (Minimum Threshold)
  1.  The wealth must reach or exceed the nisab, the minimum amount that determines whether zakat is obligatory.
 5. REACHES HAUL (One Year Period)
  1.  Haul means that one lunar year has passed over the wealth owned, based on the Hijri calendar (354 days), or based on the Gregorian calendar (365/366 days in a leap year).
 6. GROWING WEALTH (AL-NAMA’)
  1.  The wealth subject to zakat must be of a growing nature or have the potential to grow.
 7. SOURCE OF WEALTH / INCOME MUST BE HALAL AND LEGAL
  1.  The income or wealth must be obtained from halal sources and acquired in ways permissible under Islamic law and national law.
