How much fidyah should be paid?

The rate of fidyah is one cupak of staple food (equivalent to 1.3 kg of rice) for each day of missed fasting. In the state of Selangor, the Fatwa Committee Meeting of Selangor (5th session of 2020), held on 17 Rabi’ul Awal 1442H (corresponding to 3 November 2020), decided that the fidyah payment rate for each missed day of fasting is one-quarter of the zakat fitrah rate for the year 1446H / 2025M, as follows:

RM2.00 (Local rice)

RM4.30 (Brown rice, glutinous rice, fragrant rice, red rice)

RM6.30 (Japanese rice, Basmati rice, Herba Ponni rice)

The fidyah rates set include administrative fees.
