How is the amount of Kaffarah calculated?
In Selangor, the rate of kaffarah is calculated based on one-quarter of the current zakat fitrah rate, combined with a 15% administrative fee set by MAIS (Selangor Islamic Religious Council).
Current kaffarah rates:
i. RM2.00 (Local rice)
ii. RM4.30 (Brown rice, glutinous rice, fragrant rice, red rice)
iii. RM6.30 (Japanese rice, Basmati rice, Herba Ponni rice)
