Fidyah can be paid to institutions or charitable organizations that are trusted to be distributed to the poor. The 5th Selangor State Fatwa Committee Meeting/2020 which convened on 17 Rabi’ul Awwal 1442H corresponding to 3 November 2020 agreed to decide:

a) Fidyah and kaffarah must be paid to Baitulmal, Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS);
